Review:

This is unabashedly floral and an easy introduction to gin for non-regular drinkers. It has a sweetness that makes it very easy on the palate and offers a beautiful aroma upon bringing the glass to your mouth.

True gin aficionados may prefer a more juniper forward gin and feel this version strays a bit too far to be truly enjoyed and appreciated as gin. I do find myself warning my guests that it is quite floral before pouring them a shot. However, almost everyone loves the flavour.

As someone who is prefers the sweeter, fruitier gins (like G’vine Floraison), I am a big fan of this Midsummer Solstice version of Hendricks. It is easy drinking when served neat, and also combines well with other floral or citrusy ingredients in cocktails. The only downside is that it is a limited edition so I just hope I can find another bottle after finishing mine!
